Who am I

I have been an expat for the biggest part of my life. I am a mother of two and use art as a way of expressing myself. I’m Belgian and speak fluently English, Dutch and French. On the question why I started coaching? I have witnessed what abuse and manipulation can do to a person and how this can influence and change the direction of your life. I found out that a lot of people were not finding help or answers when going to specialists and instead start to look elsewhere for help.

Through self-study and research I came upon creative therapy.

Thanks to this I discovered how art can be a powerful tool to help someone express themselves in ways where words are redundant, as well as the wonderful use of art metaphors to help people understand themselves better. By having lived in South-Africa, Michigan-USA, Norway, Sweden and recently in Beijing and Shanghai-China, I had the privilege to emerge myself into different cultures. I witnessed the effects of social distancing being the migrant, and how it affects relations in both friend and family aspects. Every country gave me some valuables lessons about different cultures, traditions, etiquette, disciplines, segregation, friendships, eating habits and family life. Being an expat, you learn quickly to fit in, make friends and adapt to your new home away from home.

Strangers become the closest thing to family.

You do have wonderful moments and discoveries. However, you also learn what loneliness is. I have seen how quickly people become isolated and anonymous, non-existent to others.
While living in Shanghai I started volunteering at Lifeline, a hotline for people struggling with mental health and well-being. I also followed a course in Suicide Prevention. Last year I decided to go fully into coaching and became a Certified  International Coach with ICF (International coaching Federation). An important step was receiving my accreditation as a professional coach in ICF. My goal is to work with people who are living with or are separated from a person suffering from narcissistic personality disorder. As a coach I understand your search toward finding answers to your questions when speaking about your current situation.
